Job Description

House Manager
Responsible for the smooth operation of the house during the run of the show. The House Manager oversees all public areas of the theatre, ensuring that the experience of each patron is enjoyable and safe.

Primary Responsibilities:

House Managing all performances of the Plaza Theatre season, as well as Talk Backs after selected performances, receptions & other Plaza Theatre events.

Duties include:

  • Coordinating, training, and supervising all house workers (ushers, greeter, bartender, refreshment or souvenir seller, etc.) & maintaining volunteer usher group
  • Tidying and maintaining the appearance of lobby and auditorium areas
  • Resolving any patron complaints/issues arising during productions
  • Purchasing concessions & accounting for all concessions and bar sales
  • Along with the stage manager, ensure all lights are turned off after each show, all patrons have exited, and all doors are locked.

AN INSPECTOR CALLS - October 8-25, 2014 - Tuesday thru Saturday

This is a paid hourly position.  Training will be conducted prior to and during the first paid public performance of AN INSPECTOR CALLS.

Candidates should have experience working with the public and have strong organizational and communication skills; box office or other theatre experience helpful.

Associate Board

The Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma Associate Board fulfills a vital purpose for the organization. This group plans several events throughout the year, including opening night parties, holiday celebrations, and the renowned Lyric Indian Taco booth at the annual Festival of the Arts. The Associate Board also assists in donor-related events, such as the nightly reception at the Civic Center during Lyric's summer season. 


Thelma Gaylord Academy Parent Support (LAPS) is made up of the dedicated parents of Lyric's Thelma Gaylord Academy students. The parents play a vital role in the success of the students, providing essential support in preparing for Academy classes and final productions. Scenery, costumes, props, event-planning, program printing, fundraising boutiques...you name it, and LAPS does it.

Ushering at the Plaza

Lyric uses volunteer ushers for all performances at the Plaza Theatre. If you would like to volunteer for a non-profit organization AND see a show, contact Kurt about ushering at the Plaza, via email.
