Academy Classes
Professional working actors within the community teach students the skills and techniques they will need in order to work in the entertainment industry. Even students not pursuing a post high school arts education gain valuable knowledge (such as confident public speaking skills) that they can utilize in a variety of job fields. Classes are held in 14-week semesters that correlate with the Oklahoma City Public School calendar, and include a variety of subjects such as: Musical Theatre Production, Introduction to Musical Theatre, Theatre Magic, Acting/ Character Study, Introduction to Music Theory, Ballet, Tap, Theatre Dance, Dance Magic, Private Voice and Private Acting coaching sessions. Semester classes are tailored to meet the needs of the 4-7 year old, 8-10 year old, 11-13 year old, and 14-18 year old age groups. The arts experience differs according to each class; however most classes culminate in a public performance.
The majority of classes are held at the Lyric Production Center. This facility houses two dance studios, a music studio, offices, restrooms, and storage for sets, props, costumes, lights, sound, and a fully functional costume shop.
