Stephen Hilton

Stephen HiltonStephen Hilton, Director of Education, has spent a lifetime in the arts and education. Holding both a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and a Master's Degree in Vocal Literature and Performance (with concentrations in Theory and Composition) he is also a "Lifetime Certified" teacher of Music, Theatre, Computers, Social Studies and English. He has taught in the Middle School, High School and College classroom as well as developing and teaching curriculum for adults in various computer technologies. He firmly believes that the best teachers are those who have both education and experience, which is why he continues to perform as often as possible. Most recently he was Grandpa Potts in Chitty-Chitty Bang Bang, Abner Dillon in 42nd Street, and various roles in Buddy! at Lyric Theatre. His hardest challenge is deciding which he enjoys most - directing the incredible kids he gets to work with every week, performing amazingly challenging roles, teaching his Acting students at UCO, composing musicals (his "Little Red" was performed at the Academy in November of 2010), or one of the many other jobs, hobbies and interests which keep his days and nights full of fun.
