Regional; New York Dance Theatre: GEORGE BALANCHINE’S THE NUTCRACKER (Nutcracker Prince).

The bio you just looked over belongs to a performer who is 12 years old! Brooks Landegger, a native of New York will be starring in the title role for Lyric’s BILLY ELLIOT. Although his resume is very impressive, we’re excited because this role marks Brooks’ musical theatre debut! Brooks is currently a student at the School of American Ballet in New York City, but has trained in many other dance styles at Shuffles NYC.

In addition to being a very talented kid, Brooks is also a very lovely person. To quote BILLY ELLIOT cast member Melissa Griffith, “Brooks is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. He carries this huge show all the way through, and he remains professional, grateful and just plain ‘good people.'”

In a conversation with BILLY ELLIOT Director Ashley Wells, she says Brooks was recommended to her from an industry friend. Brooks was able to audition via video footage and now his whole family has been in Oklahoma City since July. I sure hope they’ve gotten accustomed to this Oklahoma heat!

Fun fact: Brooks’ sister Liesl is also in the show; she plays Margaret Gormley, one of Billy’s ballet classmates.

We hope you’ll join us at the Civic Center Music Hall to see this talented kid in action as BILLY ELLIOT!
